It’s time to answer your question: How is Germany, did you get adjusted, how are the people, how is the univerisity? ….

Its already one month since i left home. If not home sick, i am missing my parents, my friends, my car and my belongings back home. Getting adjusted to new culture didn’t take much time and more over no culture-shock as such (as others had warned me about this before). May be i will get more exposure on German/European culture when i attend Intercultural Weekend at Badboll from this 19th to 21th of Oct 2007. I have been informed that attending this will carry ECTS (European credits) and its a part of my course. huh! huh! huh.

About food: I have to do all the work what my dad and mom used to do. I have to goto Supermarket (kaufland) bring all the stuff. I have also started to cook, well not much – Rice, Dal Sambar, Tomato and Alu sabji, chapathis. Also to mention i tried making dosa and sambar today and believe me it was delicious. Its a milestone you know, so i have clicked some photos and you find ‘em in my photo gallery.

I like to cook now but the disappointing thing it kills my time. It takes

30 mins – to wash, cut, arranging items
30 mins – to cook and make it edible
15 mins – to eat
15 mins – clean utensils and stove… huh huh !

It takes more than 90 mins. Either i have to stop preparing delicious food or have to prepare fast.

At first, i used to eat outside daily. Believe me you can find more than 50-60 varities of pizzas in PizzaHuts and other places, but amongst them “pure vegeterians” are less than 3. Huh it hurts for a pizza lover! The one which i can remember are – Pizza Vegetarisch and Pizza Margarita. Bad news for Indian non-veg eaters. You cannot find your delicious tandori kabab, grilled chicken, lamb leg, egg burji here. You can find pork, beef which they mostly call as meat.

Apart from Donurs and Pizzas i visit Subway very regularly. Along with Vegie Delight (with most of the vegetables; toasted, mustard sause … mmm.. – awesome!) I buy Coke which can be refilled for ‘Unlimited times’ with chips. Isn’t it funny? but it’s really tempting. Since i visit often they have offered me a Subway points card, with which i can add points when i eat each time and can redeem the points later to get free goodies, as a token of appreciation

About my Univerisity: Completely different than our colleges. Students smoke and drink beer just before entering the class. You can
drink colas, watch vidoes on you lappy, attend phone calls, go out come in …. do whatever u want during lectures. Professors are world-class. Classes are usually presentations along with discussions. I bunked few classes so can”t write much on this but will update this in near future.

About Stuttgart: City is neat, neat and neat. People are very sincere, punctual, quite, polite but freaking Gorgeous! When i walk especially near train stations i could hear nothing but those high heals sandals and shoes sound. I have to count seconds here not minutes or hours to catch a train or bus.
